Joe Lunardi’s latest bracket and “Bracket Math” came out on Thursday and Jerry Palm has now released his latest bracket since his last release on Monday of this week. Palm and Lunardi vary a bit on how they seed some Big East teams but both have 7 Big East teams in their fields.
Here is a breakdown of Palm’s latest bracket:
- Villanova – #2 seed in East Region vs. #15 NCCU
- Butler – #5 seed in Midwest Region vs. #12 Western Kentucky
- Georgetown – #6 seed in East Region vs. #11 George Washington
- Seton Hall – #7 seed in West Region vs. #10 San Diego State
- Providence – #8 seed in East Region vs. #9 Cincinnati
- St. John’s – #8 seed in Midwest Region vs. #9 Iowa
- Xavier – #11 seed in West Region vs. #11 NC State
Here’s how Palm and Lunardi compare for the Big East:
- Villanova – Lunardi: #2 in East vs. Palm: #2 in East
- Georgetown – Lunardi: #5 in Midwest vs. Palm: #6 in Midwest
- Seton Hall – Lunardi: #6 in West vs. Palm: #7 in West
- Providence – Lunardi: #6 in South vs. Palm #8 in East
- Butler – Lunardi: #7 in Midwest vs. Palm: #5 in Midwest
- Xavier – Lunardi: #11 in East vs. Palm: #11 seed in West (Play-in)
- St. John’s – Lunardi: #12 in Midwest (Play-in) vs. Palm: #8 in Midwest
It should be noted that Lunardi’s bracket is for games through January 21st while Palm’s is through games on January 22nd but there were only 2 Big East games last night: Providence vs. Xavier and DePaul vs. Seton Hall.
