Providence hosted fans, parents, alumni and friends at their end of season banquet for the 2014-15 men’s basketball team on Saturday night. The event was held at the Omni Hotel and featured speeches from athletic director Bob Driscoll, president Fr. Brian Shanley, associate athletic director Steve Napolillo and head coach Ed Cooley. In addition to the team awards being given out for last season’s accomplishments the graduating seniors were honored and allowed to speak to the crowd to share their thanks and appreciation for all the support during their time at Providence College.
Here are the team awards:
- Jimmy Walker Most Valuable Players: LaDontae Henton and Kris Dunn
- John Zannini Coaches Award: Carson Desrosiers
- Coca-Cola Most Promising Prospect: Paschal Chukwu
- Marvin Barnes Defensive Player of the Year: Kris Dunn
- Lenny Wilkens Hustle Award: Ben Bentil
- Thomas Ramos Academic Award: Tom Planek (3.74 GPA)
