Joe Lunardi’s Latest Bracket Math Released

Joe Lunardi released an updated bracket a week ago today, the ESPN guru’s first bracketology release since the season started. On Monday night, Lunardi released his latest Bracket Math and Providence, as well as a few other Big East teams, had good showings on the seed list. Joey Brackets had both Xavier and Villanova as 3 seeds last week and that hasn’t changed this week, except that the Musketeers have jumped ahead of the Wildcats on the seed list.

Notes: CAPS are AQ’s – Spots 48-68 would be filled by auto qualifiers.

Xavier has been excellent to start the season and Chris Mack’s bunch currently owns the #1 spot in the RPI rankings. Villanova basically flip-flopped with the Musketeers after their loss to Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor, but the Wildcats stuck on the 3 line for Lunardi. Butler and Providence remain on the 5 line and Georgetown remains an 8 seed — the same spots each team was in last week for Joey Brackets. Marquette moves up to the First 4 Out category and are the very first team OUT of the field of 68 for Lunardi right now. Michigan State stays at the top and Arizona slipped down from the 4 line to the 5 and were passed over by both Butler and Providence.
