Ben Bentil Named Big East Player of the Week for Second Time


Ben Bentil was named Big East Player of the Week for the second time this season following a week in which he averaged 25.5 points/game, 10.0 rebounds/game and led the Friars to a 2-0 record. The first win of the week came at home against Butler — a top 20 team at the time — and win two of last week was Providence’s thrilling overtime upset of the top 5 Villanova Wildcats. Bentil scored a game-high 31 points in that victory and grabbed 13 rebounds. Bentil leads the league in scoring (19.8 points/game) and is 5th in rebounding (8.2 rebounds/game).
