Heading into Saturday’s matchup at the Cintas Center against Xavier, Joe Lunardi’s latest bracket release today has PC as an 11 seed in the Midwest region playing LSU in a First Round play-in game.

There were two games of significance for RPI boostability last night for the Friars. Boston College fell against Virginia but Vanderbilt took down Tennessee. With those two results PC’s RPI is now at 51 (was 52).

In the only RPI boost game last night, Fairfield fell at Rider. In Big East action, Xavier hung with Villanova in Philly for a little while but Nova pulled away and won handily. In the late game on Fox Sports 1, Georgetown traveled to Chicago to take on DePaul and eventually pulled away to winn 71-59. PC’s RPI is now at 37 (was 37).

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm just came out with his new bracket and he has PC as a 10 seed in the South bracket (Raleigh) playing old Big East foe Pittsburgh who just dropped back to back ACC games against Duke and Virginia. I’ll have a full Bracketology update on Thursday at noon as I do every week.
There were no games of significance for the Friars yesterday but the weekend was a success overall with the road win at DePaul and Georgetown taking down #7 Michigan State at MSG. PC’s RPI is now at 37 (was 37).

Huge win by Georgetown against #7 ranked Michigan State at Madison Square Garden. This was the biggest factor in PC’s RPI making a solid move in the positive direction (other than PC winning on the road at DePaul). Yesterday’s overall results were 4-2 with Maryland, Kentucky, Maine and Georgetown winning and Boston College and Fairfield taking losses. PC’s RPI is now at 37 (was 47).
