Thoughts from the road as I traveled down 95 South Sunday afternoon…
I felt pretty confident heading into Saturday’s season finale against Butler that Providence could not lose on Senior Day. I put that confidence in writing both here and on Scout Friars. The last thing I expected to happen on a day when emotions would be running high and the team would be amped up was for Providence to have a slow start. Welp.
This version of thoughts from the road should probably be titled “Thoughts from the Train” as I took 2 trains – both shoving off from different Pennsylvania Stations – to get from the Prudential Center to my home.
And I survived 95 South last night. Here are some of my thoughts from the extra long drive home last night:
Lost in the frenzy of the Marquette comeback attempt in the second half was that Tyler Harris had a very impressive first 20 minutes. The redshirt junior led all scorers with 11 points on 4/6 shooting from the field and 2/2 from the free throw line. He also had zero turnovers, 3 rebounds and an assist in 15 minutes of 1st half action. That’s a pretty good half for anyone. Continue reading Thoughts from the Road: Providence Survived Marquette→
The first half of Sunday’s game in front of a sellout crowd at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center felt fairly comfortable. The first few minutes of the second half made things even more comfortable as Providence got out to a 24 point lead with 13:15 to go. The game seemed well in hand. Matt Carlino started the comeback by chipping away at that 24 point deficit.
