Providence Announces New Dunkin’ Donuts Center Policy

Those fans who have been grumbling about the long and slow lines to get into the Dunkin’ Donuts Center will be happy with this announcement. No, the new policy isn’t $1 beers before every home game — damn you, Creighton and your fun policies. This new policy will allow fans to get into their seats 90 minutes ahead of the scheduled tip time. The previous policy only allowed fans entry 60 minutes before the tip. It remains to be seen if this will have any impact on those who wait until the very last second to close their bar tabs at Trinity Brewhouse or Murphy’s, but it should at least alleviate some of the logjam of those who arrive early. Here is the email that Providence’s Athletic Department sent out earlier Thursday:

Providence Announces Game-Changing Ruane Friar Development Center

Providence has upgraded their facilities for athletics massively in the 14 years since Bob Driscoll arrived as the school’s Athletic Director. There are new fields, a new stadium for soccer and lacrosse, a track, a new softball field, new tennis courts, big upgrades to both the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Schneider Arena. The one missing piece is a dedicated facility for men’s basketball — something that every other Big East member has on their campus. On Wednesday Driscoll, along with President Brian Shanley, OP. announced that they have received a major gift from former Board of Trustees Chair Michael A. Ruane and his wife, Elizabeth Ruane that will allow the Ruane Friar Development Center to break ground in the Spring of 2016. The Ruane’s also donated a large sum towards the construction of the Ruane Center for the Humanities that opened in September 2013. The project is two-phased with the first phase expected to be completed by the Summer of 2017.

Providence’s Game Against Boston College In Jeopardy Because of Chipotle?

The SB Nation site BCInterruption.com is reporting that at least 8 players on Boston College’s men’s basketball team have been stricken with E. Coli infections. The school’s athletic medical staff sent out an email telling athletes to avoid eating at the restaurant chain Chipotle. Several members of the Boston College team reported symptoms of food poisoning on Sunday morning ahead of the Eagles’ game against UMass-Lowell — a game they would go on to lose — and senior center Dennis Clifford sat out due to illness.

Television Listings for Providence vs. Brown 11/21/15

Game 3 of the 2015-16 season is another one airing only on regional Fox Sports Networks. Being a game played between two teams from the state of Rhode Island means the national reach won’t be great.

These are the networks that will be airing the game. Check your local listings to confirm. You can click on any network name with a link for a channel finder based on your zip code and TV provider:

A special note for Comcast customers about YES Network: Comcast has dropped YES Network
