Providence Makes Top 10 for 2016 PF Kevin Marfo

Another 2016 recruit has cut his list down to a more manageable number, according to Adam Finkelstein. 2016 power forward Kevin Marfo has a list of 10 schools he is considering though he told pcbb1917.com that he is yet to set any visit dates. Marfo — a 6’8 New Jersey native attending Worcester Academy in Massachusetts — is considering offers from Boston College, DePaul, George Washington, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. Joseph, UMass and URI.

Two Providence Underclassmen Playing in Croatia on Global Sports Academy Goodwill Tour

Providence has two of it’s young players over in Croatia as part of the Global Sports Academy Goodwill Tour. Sophomore Jalen Lindsey and freshman Drew Edwards help make up a team of Division 1 college basketball players. The team is coached by top Siena assistant Greg Manning and the team will play 4 games during the 8 day tour of Croatia. The opponents will be professional teams in 4 different cities.

2016 Wenyen Gabriel Cuts List to 5

Wenyen Gabriel may have been the largest stock-riser in the class of 2016 this grassroots season. The 6’9 combo forward possesses an offer list that reads like a who’s who of college basketball elite. Then there is Providence and Ed Cooley. Cooley has been on Gabriel the longest of any high major school. Providence became Gabriel’s first high major offer back in July 2014. Gabriel’s only other offer at that time was from in-state New Hampshire. On Wednesday Gabriel cut his list down to a final 5 schools. That list is comprised of Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, Providence and UConn, according to a tweet from Adam Finkelstein.
