Big East Bracketology Update 1/26/15
Monday means new brackets from both Joe Lunardi and Jerry Palm. Lunardi dropped 1 Big East team out of his bracket so that the league now has 6 teams in the field. Palm still has 7 Big East teams in but Xavier remains in the precarious “Last Four In” category.

Providence’s Tuesday Night Game Against DePaul Postponed
Kevin McNamara of The Providence Journal is reporting on Twitter that Tuesday night’s game against DePaul that was scheduled for 9pm at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center will not be played Tuesday as scheduled. McNamara mentions in his tweet that “alternate plans being discussed today” which is in line with what Providence College’s Athletic Director Bob Driscoll said in a letter released Sunday night to media and season ticket holders.
In that letter, which was also posted to Friars.com, Driscoll said “Providence College is working with the Big East Conference, Fox Sports 1, DePaul Athletics, the State of Rhode Island and the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on the potential rescheduling of the men’s basketball game versus DePaul.” The Dunkin’ Donuts Center has a Fleetwood Mac concert scheduled for Wednesday night and Thursday is currently an open date but if the storm is as bad as it sounds then the concert may get pushed to Thursday night.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.

Review of Last Night’s Action
There were 5 games yesterday to help Providence boost their RPI. The record was 4-1. Boston College got a road win at Georgia Tech, 64-62. URI kept it close against St. Bonaventure but ultimately took care of their home court and the Bonnies, 53-48. St. John’s coughed up a 10 point lead with 8:15 left at the Garden against #5 Duke and fell to the Blue Devils, 77-68. Coack K got his 1,000th career win in the process. Albany used a good first half to beat UMBC at home, 69-55. Notre Dame needed overtime on the road at NC State but they defeated the Wolfpack, 81-78. The Fighting Irish figures to be a very good resume win for Providence.
