Providence Roster Review & Outlook
It seems the 2014-15 roster is now complete with the addition of German guard Tyree Chambers* so I’ll take an in-depth look at the roster and how it’s shaping up both in the short term and the long term.
If you want to see the current scholarship situation for each season through 2018-2019 there is a dropdown menu at the top of the menu bar above. You can also click this link.
Technically the 2014-15 roster has one open scholarship remaining and maybe Ed Cooley will look to add a mid-year transfer for next season to balance the classes (more on that later) but I believe this will be the group that the Friars will go to battle with this upcoming season. Let’s look at the roster by position group:

#pcbb Weekly Recruiting Update 9/12/14
The last week has been pretty quiet on the Providence recruiting front. We haven’t heard about any other players scheduling visits to PC but there have been some Friar recruits who have given their pledges elsewhere. None are earth shattering and some didn’t ever get an official offer from Ed Cooley but commitments are happening fast and furious all over college basketball. Providence currently has 2 open scholarships for the 2015 class with an eye on point guard Justin Robinson to fill one and possibly bank the other to save for a transfer or Spring addition.
Robinson is on his second of five scheduled official visits this weekend. His first visit during Labor Day weekend was to Buzz Williams and Virginia Tech while visit two is taking place at Maryland. Visits 3 through 5 are scheduled thus: Providence 9/19-9/21, Creighton 9/27-9/28 and UNLV 10/3-10/4. I think some people are discounting UNLV and Creighton because Robinson has played his recruitment fairly close to the vest.
