Recruiting News: Scout.com Releases Updated Class Of 2017 Top 100 Recruit Rankings
Scout released their update top 100 for the class of 2017 on Wednesday. Providence is still working hard in 2016, but they are also continuing to form relationships with 2017 players and those players will be looking to make their mark during the spring and summer grassroots periods. There are some new names in the top 100 and some that fell out. All in all, Providence is involved with a lot of talented and highly ranked players in the class of 2017.

Providence heads back on the road to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles. Providence is looking to avenge an earlier loss to Marquette at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on January 5th. Providence has never won at Marquette. The Friars are 0-9 all-time. The Friars are 13-10 ATS this season and the Golden Eagles are 9-14 ATS. Providence opened as a 1 point road favorite against Marquette.

Weekly College Basketball Polls Update: February 8th
Week 14 of the college basketball polls have been released and Providence has fallen out of the top 15 after an 0-2 week that included a road loss at DePaul and a home loss against Villanova. The Friars are now 6-5 in Big East play and will travel to Milwaukee for a Wednesday night game against Marquette before returning home to take on Georgetown on Saturday. This is the first time Providence has been ranked in the AP Poll for 11 straight weeks since the 1977-78 season when the Friars spent the final 13 weeks ranked in the AP Top 25. The Friars moved from 11th to 20th in the AP Poll and from 11th to t-17th in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll this week.
