Providence and St. John’s are two teams moving in opposite directions at the moment with the Friars starting league play at 3-1 in a tie for 1st place while St. John’s is 0-3 for the second consecutive season to open Big East play and in a tie for last place. Providence opened as a 7 point road underdog for Tuesday night’s 9pm tip at Hinkle Fieldhouse for game 2 of this Big East road trip. Providence is 1-0 all-time at Hinkle with that lone win coming last season during Butler’s first year in the Big East.

Providence opened as a 2 point road underdog for Saturday’s 2pm Big East road opener in Milwaukee against the Marquette Golden Eagles. The Friars are 0-8 all-time at Marquette.
Marquette has covered the spread the last 8 times the teams have met going back to January 2010.
The line quickly jumped to Providence +1 minutes after the open.
UPDATE 1/3/15 9:58am: The line is steady at Providence +2 and the total number is at 130.
Providence opened as a 6.5 point favorite for Wednesday night’s 7:30pm Big East opener against the Creighton Bluejays. This will be a rematch of the Big East Tournament Championship from March 15, 2014.
UPDATE 12/31/14 10:51am: The line has moved to Providence -5.5 after dropping down to -5 earlier this morning. The total is now posted and is 134.5.
Providence opened as a slight underdog for Monday night’s 9pm tip against the Miami Hurricanes at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The line then moved to Providence being favored by a point and is now (as of 6:31pm on 12/21) a pick ’em with Providence a slight favorite on the moneyline.
UPDATE 10:48AM 12/22: The line has shifted back towards Miami and is now Providence +1.5. The over/under total is 131.
