Mobile App Provides Enriched Coverage of Tournament Action for the

Nation’s Premier College Basketball Conference

New York – March 6, 2015 – The BIG EAST has launched an official mobile app that will showcase the 2015 Men’s Basketball Tournament by creating a completely unique second-screen experience for both the fan inside Madison Square Garden and the fan following all the hard-nosed action on FOX Sports 1.  The app pulls together real-time BIG EAST news, videos, scores, replays and bracket updates to provide fans with a comprehensive digital guide to the entire week of exciting college basketball action.

The app is free to download and available on both iOS and Android devices.

The official 2015 BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournament App will include a rapid replays in-venue feature that allows fans at MSG to re-live all the clutch shots, high-flying dunks and big-time blocks immediately after they happen.  The mobile replay system taps into the multiple camera feeds used throughout the arena to provide four angles of review, in fans’ hands, for all of the tournament’s most memorable moments.

A unique trivia-based Fan Challenge will also be featured within the app to test the knowledge of even the most die-hard BIG EAST basketball fans.  During each game of the tournament, a new set of four trivia questions will be unveiled to fans as they try to claim bragging rights as the BIG EAST’s Biggest Fan by the end of championship week.

“The BIG EAST Basketball tournament is one of the most sought after experiences in sports. We are excited to offer our fans a highly customized mobile app that brings fans closer to the action whether they’re watching at Madison Square Garden or at-home through a FOX Sportsbroadcast,” said Chief Marketing Officer Ann Wells Crandall.

The app incorporates a comprehensive list of features set to enrich the overall tournament experience. Fans can follow along throughout with an up-to-the-minute news feed, a YouTube video library complete with highlights, press conferences, interviews and recaps, real-time schedule and bracket features, complete team rosters, a social media suite, tournament photo gallery, a mascot directory and FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports GO broadcast information.

A live radio feed of the game call from Westwood One, the official national radio partner of the BIG EAST, will also be accessible through the app.  Tournament tickets and official championship merchandise for the BIG EAST Tournament can also be purchased in the mobile app.

The Conference developed the app in collaboration with YinzCam, Inc., the leader in mobile sports experiences and provider of more than 90 mobile applications for professional sports teams, colleges, and venues worldwide, including Madison Square Garden.

“YinzCam is proud to deliver a new fan experience for the BIG EAST with the 2015 Men’s Basketball Tournament app. Through a unique combination of real-time information for the fan on-the-go, along with in-venue replays for fans attending the tournament at Madison Square Garden, we are truly excited to bring the best of our mobile sports technologies to BIG EAST basketball fans,” said Priya Narasimhan, YinzCam Chief Executive Officer and founder.

FOX Sports to Host BIG EAST Content Exclusively on

FOX Sports GO Digital Platform

BIG EAST Digital Network to Launch on September 25

NEW YORK – September 5, 2014 – The BIG EAST Conference, in partnership with FOX Sports, today announced the creation of the BIG EAST Digital Network, a conference-specific, year-round HD digital channel offering free live streaming of 80-100 sporting events annually, in addition to the authenticated live streaming of BIG EAST events on FOX Sports networks. The BIG EAST Digital Network will begin with the 2014-15 academic year.

The BIG EAST Digital Network will have its own branded channel within FOX Sports GO, the app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go.  The BIG EAST is the first collegiate conference to be hosted on the network’s mobile platform.

FOX Sports GO will launch the BIG EAST Digital Network on September 25 and will feature a women’s soccer match between Georgetown at DePaul at 5 PM EST as the first event.

FOX Sports GO is currently available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire tablets and Fire phones, select Windows devices, and on desktops through FOXSportsGO.com.  Fans can download the mobile app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store.

With most BIG EAST men’s basketball games set to be televised on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Regional Networks, or FOX broadcast network during the 2014-15 season, the BIG EAST Digital Network will supplement scheduled television coverage while expanding exposure of additional athletic contests, including BIG EAST women’s basketball and the conference’s 20 Olympic sports.   In addition to live streaming, content will include highlights, selected news coverage and shoulder programming. The BIG EAST will oversee all production on the Digital Network. Rush Media Company will serve as the conference’s third-party production services supplier.

“The Conference is proud to team with FOX Sports to introduce the BIG EAST Digital Network,” said Commissioner Val Ackerman. “While fans of the conference will be able to see all of our men’s basketball games on television, the BIG EAST Digital Network will allow easy access to other programming valued by our schools, including women’s basketball and Olympic sports competitions and features.  Thanks to FOX Sports GO’s reach, the Digital Network will provide substantial distribution of BIG EAST sports to a wider audience and better serve our student-athletes and their supporters.”

Highlighted coverage on the Digital Network will include select regular season BIG EAST women’s basketball games, as well as the opening round and quarterfinal rounds of the women’s basketball tournament in Chicago, and championship games for the conference’s Olympic sports.

Said Clark Pierce, FOX Sports Senior Vice President of Mobile and Advanced Platforms: “The BIG EAST Digital Network is an excellent addition to the FOX Sports GO portfolio. We’re proud that we’ll have the opportunity to showcase these great events and make them accessible to fans and supporters at home or on-the-go.”

FOX Sports GO users who are also subscribers of participating video providers can live stream the BIG EAST men’s and women’s basketball telecasts, plus the Olympic sports championships,  carried on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Regional Networks, and FOX broadcast network.  The BIG EAST women’s basketball events and the Olympic sports contests that are not televised by FOX Sports do not require a video subscription.

Select content will also be available on bigeast.com, including historical BIG EAST games on demand, highlight footage, and original programming to be unveiled at a later date. Specific dates and additional details of featured match-ups, including regular season games and championship contests, will be released as game schedules are finalized.
