After a hiatus from creating a bracket I’m back with my latest attempt. We are now 24 days away from Selection Sunday and teams will be looking to finish their league season’s strong over the next few weeks. Note that my bracket is now part of the Bracket Matrix so head over there and see how mine compares to 80+ brackets submitted to that site.
The automatic qualifiers are based on the conference standings through games on February 18th.

Joe Lunardi came out with his most recent bracket on Thursday and he now has 6 Big East teams in the field of 68. St. John’s had been teetering on the edge and snuck in on his Monday bracket after beating Providence but have now fallen out after losing at Butler. Let’s get to the rest of the league.

I’ll give you my S-curve as well as try to seed teams while following the NCAA Selection Committee’s guidelines for seeding. Monday brackets are out courtesy of Joe Lunardi and Jerry Palm. The weekend of games saw some upsets and teams have moved around a bit as a result. Let’s get right into it.
Joe Lunardi will be doing a weekly Saturday article with his “Bracket Math” and then he’ll breakdown the weekend’s most important games with teams that would be “In With a Win”, “Out Without” and who has the “Most at Stake” which could describe a team that would lose any chance of getting into the NCAA Tournament or just a team whose seeding could be affected by a win or loss.
Lunardi identified St. John’s as being in with a win against Providence today and the Seton Hall/Xavier game was on with the most at stake.
Thursday means new brackets from both Joe Lunardi and Jerry Palm. Lunardi and Palm both still have 6 and 7 Big East teams in their fields, respectively. Some of the seeding has changed since their Monday updates though.
With Bracket Matrix up to 73 brackets reporting right now I figured why not try to create my own bracket to see how I do against the rest of the field.
