Opening Line: Providence -12.5 vs. NJIT 11/23/15

The Friars opened as favorites for the fourth straight game and are 2-1 ATS this season. NJIT comes into Monday’s contest with an overall record of 3-1 and the Highlanders are 0-1 ATS.

Opening Line: Providence -14.5 vs. Brown 11/21/15

The Friars opened as favorites for the third straight game and are 1-1 ATS this season. Brown is 1-2 on the season and 0-2 ATS. This is a revenge game for the Friars after last season’s 10 point loss to the Bears at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

The Friars opened as favorites for the second straight game and are 1-0 ATS this season. Illinois is 1-1 on the season and 1-0 ATS. This will be the Illini’s first road game of the season.

Opening Line: Providence -10 vs. Harvard 11/14/15

Providence opens the 2015-16 season at home against Harvard on Saturday at 7pm. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Networks. Click here to see what channel that might be for you. The Crimson were an NCAA Tournament team last season but they lose 5 seniors from that team, including leading scorer Wesley Saunders. Tommy Amaker’s bunch also took another hit this summer when leading returning scorer and assist-man Siyani Chambers tore his ACL. All of the above leads people to think the Crimson will have a down year in the Ivy League.

Vegas seems to agree, at least based on what this line is against a largely inexperienced Providence team.

Preseason Bracketology All the Rage This Week

After 7 months of “way too early” preseason projections it’s now pretty timely to be making preseason projections — if for no other reason than the preseason ends tonight. This week has seen lots of different publications come out with their preseason bracketology — something that people might argue is still way too early — and there has been a bit of a dichotomy about where Providence stands in regards to the NCAA Tournament following the 2015-16 season. It appears that dichotomy stands between the human based projections and those generated by data and computer programs.

Kenpom’s 2015-16 Preseason Rankings Released

Ken Pomeroy — or Kenpom as he and his website are more commonly known — came out with his preseason rankings for the 2015-16 season on Sunday night. While these rankings aren’t meant to be 100% accurate they do give a decent guideline and perspective on how teams compare within each conference and how the conferences compare to each other.
