Providence’s Ed Cooley on ROME – The Jim Rome Show 3/2/15

Thanks to our friend FriarTV for posting a replay of Ed Cooley’s appearance on ROME – The Jim Rome Show – on CBS Sports Network:

Thoughts from the Road: Providence Survived Marquette

And I survived 95 South last night. Here are some of my thoughts from the extra long drive home last night:

  • Lost in the frenzy of the Marquette comeback attempt in the second half was that Tyler Harris had a very impressive first 20 minutes. The redshirt junior led all scorers with 11 points on 4/6 shooting from the field and 2/2 from the free throw line. He also had zero turnovers, 3 rebounds and an assist in 15 minutes of 1st half action. That’s a pretty good half for anyone.

Providence Survives Late 3-point Barrage to Beat Marquette, 77-66

The first half of Sunday’s game in front of a sellout crowd at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center felt fairly comfortable. Providence Friars Fall Flat, 89-61, On Villanova’s Senior Night

The game started with Villanova jumping out to a 9-0 lead and that was a bad omen for the night. For much of the early first half Providence had more turnovers than field goals. Villanova scored 14 points of 14 first half turnovers by the Friars. The number for the game would be an ugly 25 Villanova points off 15 Providence giveaways. Other ugly disparities on the stat sheet in Tuesday night’s game was 26/31 from the free throw line for Villanova against just 6/12 free throws for Providence and 13/25 from downtown for the Wildcats while the Friars managed just 3/10 from 3-point range.
