Providence Recruiting Guide to the 1st July 2015 Live Evaluation Period

The July live evaluation periods are a critical time of year for recruits and college coaches. There are 3 sessions during the month for the players to impress and the coaches to evaluate and show interest. This first one is a big also because it will culminate the Nike EYBL season at the Peach Jam with the finals being held on July 12th at 3pm. ESPNU will televise the Nike EYBL Peach Jam finals again this year. They will have both semifinal games as well as the final game. This is a great chance for fans to see some of the top high school players in the nation and hopefully a Friar recruit or two will be involved in the action.

Under Armour also has action during this live period with their inaugural UA All-America Camp being held in Charlotte from July 7th through July 10th. They will have 80 of the best players from the UAA circuit in attendance.

Adidas is also hosting an event this live period with a similar event to the EYBL’s Peach Jam. The Adidas version is the finale of their Adidas Uprising Gauntlet circuit featuring the top 32 teams from that circuit this Spring. There are also a number of other camps and tournaments ongoing during this live period.

Who Will Be Providence’s Next Priority Recruit in 2016?

With the news on Sunday night that 2016 guard Temple Gibbs gave his verbal commitment to Mike Brey and Notre Dame, the Providence staff will now have to shift their focus in the class of 2016. Gibbs had been a priority recruit for the 1 open scholarship that PC has for next year. He had visited Providence for Late Night Madness last October in Bob Simon attended a number of his Seton Hall Prep games throughout the season. The question now becomes, who will the Friar coaches prioritize next in 2016?

Let’s take a look at some potential targets that could become the next priority recruit.

Providence Recruiting Guide to the 2nd April 2015 Live Evaluation Period

This is the second of two live evaluation periods in the month of April. A live evaluation period means college coaches are allowed to attend and evaluate recruits. As I did last spring and summer I’ll be providing a guide for fans to follow along and see where Providence’s targets are playing during a given live evaluation period.

I’ll also be doing my best to keep up with the map that tracks where Ed Cooley and his staff are during each live period and any recruiting period in between. This post will be updated as the weekend goes on and more information is known. It should be noted that the basketball team’s end of season banquet is on Saturday, April 25th. Cooley will be off the road for that and also the visit of Washington transfer Nigel Williams-Goss. I expect the assistant coaches will skip the banquet to be out recruiting during this critical live evaluation period.

UPDATE: You can watch live games of the EYBL circuit by clicking this link. The players numbers are next to their names below. Big thanks for Craig Leighton for sending the info about the live stream.
