LaDontae Henton’s Mike Duman Auto Sales team won their first game on Wednesday night behind 18 points from Henton to lead all scorers. Henton and his squad take on Cherry Bakaert in the first of 2 semifinal games being played tonight in Portsmouth, VA. The winner advances to the final to be played on Saturday at 8pm against the winner of Roger Brown’s Restaurant and Portsmouth Partnership. The losers of these semifinal games will play just before the championship game at 6pm on Saturday.
LaDontae Henton scored 18 points to lead all scorers en route to his team winning their first game of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Portsmouth, VA.
Henton shook off some of his shooting issues that plagued him in the Dayton game and the Reese’s College All Star game and shot 6/12 from the field and 5/5 from the free throw line. Henton also pulled down 6 rebounds in his 27 minutes of action.
Henton’s next game will be Friday at 7pm and that will be the semifinals against Cherry Bakaert.
LaDontae Henton was chosen to play in the famed Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Portsmouth, VA that begins on April 8th and runs through April 11th. Henton is one of 7 seniors from the Big East who will participate in the PIT this week. He joins D’Angelo Harrison (St. John’s), Darrun Hilliard (Villanova), JayVaughn Pinkston (Villanova), Josh Smith (Georgetown), Matt Stainbrook (Xavier) and Jabril Trawick (Georgetown).
Henton is on team Mike Duman Auto Sales, along with familiar names Brad Waldow (St. Mary’s) and Wayne Blackshear (Lousiville). Henton’s team will be coached by Max Gillespie and Gene Arcand and their NBA assistant coach will be Steve Colter. Mike Duman Auto Sales has their first game on April 8th at 9pm.
