The first July live evaluation period has arrived and the Providence coaching staff will be out and about stalking down talented future Friars all across the country over the next few days. A live evaluation period means college coaches are allowed to attend and evaluate recruits at certified events. This particular evaluation period begins on July 6th at 5pm and is active through 5pm on July 10th. Nike has their EYBL Peach Jam, which is their playoffs and adidas finishes off their Gaunlet series. Under Armour’s finale event is later in July so they will be hosting their All-America Camp this week in Charlotte.

Brian Blaney was in Dallas for the adidas Gauntlet series’ opening event, while Jeff Battle was spotted in Staten Island at the Elevate Hoops event. Ed Cooley wasn’t on the road this weekend as he was back on campus hosting a pair of transfer targets. More on that later.

Recruiting News: Rivals Releases Updated Class Of 2017 Top 150 Recruit Rankings
Rivals has released an updated Top 150 for the Class of 2017 and Providence has plenty of recruits among the ranked, including newly committed big man Dajour Dickens. The Friars need to upgrade the talent on their roster and 2017 will be the best place to do it short of landing a big man in 2016 like Kalif Young, Darius Hicks or Cheickna Dembele.
