Oddsmakers, like many of us, weren’t exactly sure about the Providence Friars ahead of their season opener against Vermont. The offshore books opened at Providence -3.5, the Vegas books later opened with the Friars favored by 6.5 and then the line settled around 4.5 by the tip on Monday night. Providence ended up winning by 22 and were up by 10-12 points for much of the night before blowing the game open late. Providence’s first road game of the season is in Columbus against the Ohio State Buckeyes as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games and the oddsmakers have weighed in on this matchup:
