- ICYMI – The article about new offers Providence has made since the weekend has been updated to include some new offers announced Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
- The college free agent list has a few notable Big East names on it with Sterling Gibbs now available — though not to any Big East teams. A future Big East member is Durand Johnson. The former Pitt Panther committed to St. John’s on Wednesday.

Providence Hands Out New Offers After Second Live Period
The second live evaluation period is in the rear view mirror and despite being short-handed on the recruiting trail this weekend the Friar staff managed to hand out some new offers to members of the classes of 2016 and 2017. Providence offered local New England prep players Hasahn French (Commonwealth Academy) and Samuel Japhet-Mathias (Vermont Academy), according to tweets from their high school and AAU coaches. Another offer that went out on Monday was to Oak Hill Academy big man Joe Hampton. Hampton tweeted about the offer Monday night. The other offers that were announced Tuesday were 2016 point guard Tony Carr and 2016 power forward Sedee Keita. Wednesday saw another offer to a member of the PSA Cardinals grassroots team with their Twitter account announcing that Providence was among a few schools to offer 2017 big man Mohammed Bamba.
There will be a full recap of the Friar recruits covered in the 2nd live period’s recruiting guide later in the week but for now let’s take a closer look at these recruits who received scholarship offers this week.

Providence Recruiting Guide to the 2nd April 2015 Live Evaluation Period
This is the second of two live evaluation periods in the month of April. A live evaluation period means college coaches are allowed to attend and evaluate recruits. As I did last spring and summer I’ll be providing a guide for fans to follow along and see where Providence’s targets are playing during a given live evaluation period.
I’ll also be doing my best to keep up with the map that tracks where Ed Cooley and his staff are during each live period and any recruiting period in between. This post will be updated as the weekend goes on and more information is known. It should be noted that the basketball team’s end of season banquet is on Saturday, April 25th. Cooley will be off the road for that and also the visit of Washington transfer Nigel Williams-Goss. I expect the assistant coaches will skip the banquet to be out recruiting during this critical live evaluation period.

This will be the first of two live evaluation periods in the month of April. A live evaluation period means college coaches are allowed to attend and evaluate recruits. This will be the first time coaches can see players in their grassroots setting since July 2014. As I did last spring and summer I’ll be providing a guide for fans to follow along and see where Providence’s targets are playing during a given live evaluation period.
