While some of you may be nursing an Alumni & Family Weekend hangover I’ll do my best to give you some news and notes from around the Providence basketball world to get you caught up on the on-court product and recent recruiting tidbits. Obviously Saturday’s win was a big one against 22nd-ranked Butler in front of a sold-out crowd at the Dunk, but the Friars still have a lot of work left to do if they want to keep dancing in March for a fourth straight season.

After debuting last week inside the field of 68 for both ESPN’s bracket by Joe Lunardi the Friars also entered CBSSports.com’s latest bracket by Jerry Palm on Monday. The information below is from Monday’s Palm bracket and Lunardi’s latest release out today. The Friars improved to 10-2 in the non-conference on Tuesday night with a 20-point win over Maine at home and will finish up their pre-Big East slate on Friday at Conte Forum against Boston College. More and more accolades are being heaped onto Providence’s star players. USBWA released their 2015-16 All-District Teams on Tuesday and Kris Dunn was named the District I Player of the Year. Ben Bentil was on the All-District I Team. District I is made up of schools in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
